The Oceanic Group
The Oceanic Group (TOG) is a non profit society dedicated to social welfare
and cultural ethos. It has decided to commit itself to Communication
Strategies, Research, Training and Interventions in the required social and
cultural spectrum.
TOG is a voluntary enterprise started by young minds in early 90’s. Delhi
has been the centre of TOG’s activities. The Oceanic Group (TOG) was started
by youth in and around Delhi’s colleges. It started initially as an informal
group doing Blood Donation, Eye Donation & Awareness and street plays on
Social Issues and got registered in 1996 as a non profit society with
special focus on awareness building on Health, Environment & Education. In
the last decade, the organisation has interacted with more than a lakh
people on various issues ranging from CNG in Delhi to Plague & Pulse Polio.
TOG was the first organisation to send an Earthquake relief package to Latur
in 1993. It also initiated a Vision Plan 2005 for Janakpur (Nepal).
TOG thanks the people and the media for the support it has received in its
awareness and advocacy campaigns. ‘1994-A Fresher’s Story’, our campus play
was widely appreciated all over Delhi. The street play was a part of our
campaign against corruption, goondaism, nepotism and other immoral and
illegal activities. We got many threats, but more applause.
We at TOG would welcome members from all sections of the society and of all
age groups to join us. We are soon going to form a Youth Forum to work
internationally on the issues of Peace and Sustainable Development. Clean
Air, Water, Food, Education, Sustainable Livelihoods, Health, Sanitation and
Environment. We also uphold Virtues like Tolerance, Non Violence and
Spiritualism.
A spirit of sharing and better understanding needs to be encouraged among
everyone. This forum will meet in mid 2008 in Delhi.
Working Together on these issues is the only option to fulfill the
Millennium Development Goals declared at the UN Millennium Summit in 1999.
Institutions, Governments, Multilateral Agencies, Media, Corporates and the
Social Organisations will have to join hands in this mission. We encourage
collaborations and cooperative ventures.
TOG believes in equality, cooperation and sharing common resources. Like
minded individuals can join and share our dream. Let us work to make the
world a better place to live in. |

Chanakya-Vision 2030 Programme
The earlier Chanakya-Vision
2020 Programme has now been renamed looking at the next 25 years counting as
a generation.
India has been going through various stages of development and ups and
downs. It is time we realise that with a wholehearted attempt and a
dedicated mind and body, we can do wonders. But we also have to our
strengths and weaknesses and resolve to use them for the Vision that we have
and has been articulated time and again by people like Dr. Kalam and the
Vision 2020 document of the Planning Commission.
The review group for the plans would be called Chanakya. The Plans will be
formally reviewed and accordingly modified once every year. This would be
doneby 200 expert professionals, 100 Pravasi / Non resident Indians and 200
Indian residents from all professions and vocations including midwives,
housewives, farmers and unorganised labourers (so called illiterates). These,
along with the experts comprising leaders and masters from various social
specialisations will review all the plans made by the Government, corporate
and the social sector.
